Why we do this

In 2010, brain disorders were estimated to cost European countries €798 billion, dementia alone comprised €105 billion, a figure that is set to rise with an ageing demographic. We aim to meet this need by providing a better understanding of how the brain forms and applying this knowledge to develop new ways to detect and reverse the onset and progression of neurodegeneration.
